A Beautiful, Multicultural Destination Wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
With our increasingly global society, and the rise of interracial marriages, more and more weddings are becoming multicultural affairs, a fusion of cultures celebrating the diversity of religion, ethnicity, nationalities, customs and/or traditions of both bride and groom.
While couples don’t have to share religions, ethnicity or nationality to have a wedding that they and their families will all love, planning a wedding that’s reflective of that diversity can often be delicate..
Here is a beautiful multicultural destination wedding held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, from weddingbells:
About three years after they started dating, Sean planned a trip to Panama with his then-girlfriend, Mina, to explore the beautiful country together. “I have a great passion and love for horses, so Sean arranged a day of horseback riding on the beach,” explains Mina. “After a few hours of riding, Sean suggested we take a walk to ‘stretch our legs’. Then he got down on one knee. When he asked me to marry him, I felt my heart swell. I was so emotional that I forgot to say ‘yes’ despite a few reminders!” The couple immediately began planning their wedding. They both knew they wanted a destination wedding and ultimately chose Los Cabos because it’s where the Pacific Ocean and The Sea of Cortes merge into one, symbolizing how their two cultures would be merging together on their wedding day.
The two chose a “love birds” theme for their destination wedding. The couple incorporated love birds on their favour tags, place cards and even worked bird cages throughout their reception décor. Fruit was also heavily incorporated in the décor as it symbolizes love and compassion in Mina’s Persian culture.
To complement the natural scenery and the amber tones at their venue, Mina and Sean chose a colour scheme of gold (Mina’s favourite colour), ivory, and coral.
Mina’s Vera Wang gown was a show-stopper and one of her favourite details about her big day. The long train was covered in lace and perfectly complemented her gorgeous cathedral veil.
